| Statement: |
| I embrace painting like I would meditation, an instant in time-space where only color, textures, and the physicality of the paint seem to exist in my world. I often incorporate text - from my travel journals or simply my own impromptu poetry or thoughts produced during the painting process - that I use as ground to explore additional “mind-journeys” along the canvas surface and that act as a sort of mantra during the painting act. I like to think of my art as bold, intriguing, sensual, and evocative of the boldness of Latin America’s colors and warmth. | |
