Statement:  Movies of LED lights responding to music and applications at art shows in L.A. and Burning Man at SaikoLED.

The inspiration for this years Open Studios exhibit is Hayao Miyazaki and his wonderful, ephemeral, and magical animated films. The hand painted lanterns are a new addition to the show, manifesting as otherworldly spheres of light.

Artwork from previous years using LED color changing lights carefully designed and manufactured by the artist specifically to work with mixed media artwork will be displayed.

A new LED light featuring wireless control will be demonstrated for the first time in Massachusetts with a simple physical control panel free to be played with. This light also features automatic music analysis and will be used to produce real-time light shows from any music source -- feel free to bring your favorite musical compositions!

Last, a new project featuring microphone controlled LED lights will be installed. This entertaining interactive piece flashes extremely bright colored lights when loud sounds are produced nearby.

Please see the website linked above for videos of the artwork previously exhibited; it is the nature of dynamic pieces to be difficult to describe with photographs.
