Statement:  I have been working as an artist for over 35 years. I have always worked in various media(photo, text, books, installations, and performance) , I often used found images and/or texts.

Throughout this time the work has used themes of the how and why of decision making, thinking and problem solving. The work used ideas related to memory("at risk") , and the brain.

On June 13,2006, I fell down a flight of stairs and suffered a disabling TBI (traumatic brain injury). Although it took over a year for me to return to my studio, I am now able to work. However, my work has changed dramatically. I felt little connection to my former work(anhedonia), and have been making pieces related to my brain injury, The process is much slower and more complex. Much of the work is 3 dimensional.

I am open and willing to talk about these changes and try to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you, Robert
